12 day safari12 Day Tour combination of Flying Safari and Coast

The safari starts in Nairobi where you will spend one night. The following morning is when your adventure begins and you will fly by light aircraft to Samburu and your tented camp along the Uaso Nyiro River, Samburu Intrepids. After settling in, you will go for an afternoon game drive, returning for the evening and overnight.

Samburu's elephant country

Situated in the heart of Samburu's elephant country, Samburu Intrepids offers a stunning combination of personal luxury, informative guiding, and thrilling wildlife encounters in one of the world's last great wildernesses. The following day will typically include a choice of such activities as an early morning game drive, a walking safari with a skilled Samburu guide, a sedate camel ride, and a raft trip when the river is high. The Adventurers' Club offers a uniquely educational safari for children of all ages.

The following morning a light aircraft flight will take you to Naivasha and the Great Rift Valley Lodge, with stunning views of Lake Naivasha. After settling in, there will be a boat trip on the lake before retiring for the evening and overnight.

Flamingos in flight

The next morning will be spent on a game drive in nearby Lake Nakuru National Park. Along with the amazing site of thousands of flamingos gathered at the lake, Nakuru is also a rhino sanctuary. The afternoon will be spent at leisure and there is plenty to do if relaxing is not what you had in mind - the resort offers walking and horse riding safaris, boating, sailing and bass fishing on Lake Naivasha which has a diverse and concentrated bird life. The Adventurers' and Young Rangers clubs offer children of all ages the opportunity to learn about the African wilderness.

The following morning, a light aircraft flight will take you to the Masai Mara and your camp, the Mara Intrepids Club, sitting above a sweeping bend in the Talek River. You can enjoy an afternoon game drive before settling in for the evening and overnight. Intrepids is a short drive from the Mara River, where up to one-and-a-half million wildebeest and zebra make their perilous migration crossing every July and August. The following day you can enjoy two game drives offering some of the best game viewing in Kenya - with any luck this is when you will see the Big Five!

Kipungani Bay

The next day will be an adventure of a different kind. You will fly by light aircraft back to Nairobi and then by another light aircraft to Lamu Island and Kipungani, where you will spend the next three nights. Perched on the edge of Kipungani Bay, Kipungani is the ultimate dream destination for those seeking a true desert-island holiday. As well as all the usual aspects of coastal relaxation - sun, sand, sea-sports and spectacular seafood - Kipungani offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in a coastal culture unchanged for centuries.

After staying at Kipungani for three nights you will fly back to Nairobi for a further night, leaving the following day for your flight home.
