Mara Intrepids

Sitting above a sweeping bend in the Talek River, at the confluence of the Masai Mara's four game-viewing areas, the camp enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the entire Mara ecosystem.

Intrepids is a short drive from the Mara River, where up to one-and-a-half million wildebeest and zebra make their perilous migration crossing every July and August.

Daily game drives

The camp itself is divided into four distinct areas, with separate dining areas and 'mess tents' ensuring exclusivity for larger groups travelling together. An Intrepids safari offers a unique game-viewing adventure, including three daily game drives with experienced guides, educational outings with the famous Adventurers' Club, and trips to Maasai villages that are supported by several community development projects.

The camp accommodation consists of 30 elegant tents spread over a large riverside site, with large four-poster beds and reproduction furniture, modern en suite bathrooms with hot showers.

The Mara Intrepids Camp boasts secluded raised platforms with views over the river, a large dining terrace beside the swimming pool and small riverfront dining areas with private catering.

Relaxing on Talek River

The camp has a restaurant serving classic home-cooked cuisine, a freeform swimming pool with sunbathing terrace, and an elevated game-viewing platform with drinks service.

Activities include three game drives daily with experienced guides, escorted walking safaris outside the Mara reserve, bush breakfasts, sundowners and bush dinners, and cultural tours of neighbouring Maasai villages. Arrangements can be made for dawn hot air balloon safaris, and for transfers for fishing trips to Lake Victoria. The Adventurers Club offers a range of exciting safaris and activities for children aged four to eleven.
