Serengeti National Park Grumeti River Camp

Grumeti River Camp is positioned in a remote valley in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, just 31 miles east of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake.

Spacious tented suite

Each of the ten spacious tented suites features a large bed made of Tanzanian cypress and comfortable deck furniture both in and outdoors and an en-suite bathroom.

The guest areas of this intimate camp include open fronted sitting and dining areas, a lounge area and domed bar and the spacious decks are perfect for sundowners overlooking the river. The camp has a rim-flow pool perched on the banks of the river where guests can view hippos at play.

The camp has the perfect location for a completely immersive wildlife experience - hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores cross the Grumeti River each year, risking the jaws of some of the largest crocodiles on earth as they take part in Africa’s annual migration. To add to this, large groups of hippo grunt from their watery habitat below the camp and colobus monkeys live in Grumeti’s bird-filled trees whilst the nocturnal orchestra of owls and bush babies is accompanied by the primitive sounds of lion and hyena.
