Meru National Park
Meru National Park was the setting for Joy Adamson's book "Born Free". The scenery in this park is particularly beautiful and diverse, with woodlands at 3,400ft (1,036m) on the slopes of Nyambeni Mountain Range, to wide-open plains. The Park straddles the equator and has 13 rivers and many mountain- fed streams running through it.

Black Rhino
Large prides of lion can be seen in the park together with some of Kenya's largest herds of buffalo. Other game includes lion, elephant, cheetah, leopard, black rhino, zebra, gazelle and some of the rarer antelope. The rivers abound with hippo and crocodile.
